3D-Playback

Hi, when playing 3D-Files (SbS or TaB) withe the native player (standard), the menu-items are not displayed in 3D and are unreadable. When playing with the DVD-Player (Menu/Play with...) everything is ok, the menu-items are set automacially to SbS or TaB.

Also some mkv-files also will play only when using the dvd-player.

Is there any opinion, to correct this bug in the native player?

Can I set the DVD-Player as standard-player?

I've tried to create an advancesettings-file in the Kodi-Userdata folder:
<defaultplayer>dvdplayer</defaultplayer> or
<defaultplayer>extplayer</defaultplayer>
I restarted the system, but nothing changed.

Any idea, how to change the standard-player?

Logitech Harmony Remote Control

Hi,

I've tried to program my Harmony-Control with codes to realize the following buttons:

play, stop, pause, fast forward, rewind, skip, skip back, audio, 3D and subtitle

I wrote to Logitech-Support, but they need the HEX/Pronto-Codes from the Gecko-Box. Does anyone know, where to find this codes?

Netflix update, FYI

For what's worth, I contacted Netflix last Thursday and asked them about the support for HD on my recently bought Chameleon.

Here a quote from a part of the conversation:

Oh well, the Android one is very similar to the iPhone application. I asked you on this because I can see our system detects it happens that way, and due to it being a "Cellphone" (As far as our system can tell) it is limited to a SD resolution, assuming cellphones do have small screens. Currently I my engineers said they are working with OpenHour on getting their device certified so it can enjoy of Full HD and even 4K resolutions, and that will be coming in a future update of the device.

Conversion different audioformats with Kodi on Chameleon

After a really disappointing start with my Chameleon in dec 2015, it works with the latest firmware and Kodi a lot better.
Having owned the complete range of TVIX's players, this is totally different.

My question concerns the exported audioformats over hdmi.

I have a tv-set which decodes several audio-formats. So I use the "pass-through" option in Kodi.
This works for all content with DD 5.1 and DTS formats. But with ie. DTS-MA or True HD, it stays very silent. If I change the supported HDMI audio -formats in Kodi, it only plays in PCM 2.0.
I also tried to set a fixed output in 5.1 in Kodi settings, but that isn't the solution as it even results DTS coded files in PCM 2.0.
I remember that my TVIX (6600 or 3DS2) send DTS to my tv when I used DTS-Ma coded material. So, some kind of conversion takes place at these TVIX devices.

So, my question is. Is there a way to realtime recode HD audioformats back to DD, AC-3 or DTS formats?
My tv supports these audio formats:
Surround Sound System Dolby Digital 5.1/6.1 EX, Dolby 7.1 EX,
Dolby Pro-Logic ll/llx, DTS 5.1. DTS ES 6.1,
DTS Neo:6, AAC*

Hi. Anbody tried spinztv add-on for kodi. Looks like a nice addn with TV guide.

Also if you want more HD links you can subscribe to the real debrid. Google it and check out tvaddons forum.

Ethernet is on but network i not working. Possibly hardware failure ?

A few days ago my Chameleon stop playing -watching movies streaming from my pc.

So I looked on Network and ,,Ethernet" is ,,Disconected"
On "Advanced settings" / ,,Ethernet" is on but there is no settings there. I see only MAC, the rest is empty. I try to put settings on ,, Static settings" an iP static but is not working.

I did a factory reset, same results: Etherent disconected and nothing on IP settings

On the back of Chameleon at RJ45 , even the power is on is not blinking anything.

What possibly could happened and what can I do ? The network chip burned/broken ?

Please help, any idea is welcomed ...

HDR and 10bit support

Please, looking for feedback on HDR and 10bit support.

I actually have a 4K projector that is not HDR capable, so will be looking for HDR to SDR conversion in the near future @ 4K resolution (not downcoverted to 1080p).

I understand OHC can output 4K@24 at 10bits. It surely can play back 4K HEVC 10bit files, but want to make sure we will have actually 10bits going into the HDMI interface (when using colorspace 4:2:2).

Launched Kodi today and there was a message that an update was available and to visit a listed website.

I'm not sure if this message was just a global blast to all Kodi users, or if this is for us Gecko owners, but I thought that the version of Kodi that is bundled with the Gecko is a special version.

So can and should I update my Kodi, and if so, how?

OHC remote issues

Hello.

I just received my OHC and I'm having some issues with this remote. As soon as I insert the batteries, the learning light comes on and doesn't' stop. It seems to be interfering with my other remotes, so using it quite frustrating.

I was able to attach a wireless keyboard, so I have some basic navigation. But I want to be able to use a remote when I'm watching videos.

Is my remote faulty? Or is this the normal behavior? How do you exit learning mode if you don't want to learn any devices?

Getting Internet on kodi

Need some help!! I'm using kodi Jarvis
I have on computer and minix neo x8h plus , and fire tv.
I am currently working with the skin called featherence. It's a very cool skin. Now on my computer I can install a button on the skin home page and add a RunScript(script.featherence.service,,?mode=512&value=0)
and will take me to google. Or any site. It also works on all the other non android platforms
But when I create the button on my android device. Nothing happens. Could this be a kodi android problem? I also tried on spmc. I have never seen a skin where you have direct access to the Internet. Maybe someone could take a look at this for me.

Video streaming app

I know this is a long shot, but I have a video camera in a bird box. Is it possible to connect a USB video capture device to my Chameleon box, and then install an Android app on the box so I can access the video feed from anywhere via an app/web page ?

I have no idea if it's possible so if anyone knows I'd be really grateful.

OHC Kodi 15.2 on 1.40 beta

Hey all,

I am a little late to the game here, but I finally upgraded to the 1.40 beta and installed the OHC rockchip Kodi 15.2 that is recommended for this version. I like it, but I have a few issues. I'll list the 3 issues I have and maybe somebody that knows more than I do could help me solve these issues.

1. Every 5 - 10 minutes, it seems there is a stutter in the video playing where it will flicker between 2 frames back and forth a few times. It seems like it happens when there's a camera change in the video. The audio continues fine, and it only happens for a second or so, then the video picks up fine. How can I stop this flicker / stutter?

2. Sometimes the video will slow down and get behind the audio big time. I think after 5 - 10 seconds it fixes itself, or I can stop and restart the video, then it works fine. This doesn't happen too often. Is there a fix for this?

3. This is very minor: when I play an hevc h.265 10 bit file, it starts green for the first 5 seconds, then plays fine. Is there a fix for this? Not a big deal on this, though.

I ask because I've seen people on this forum say that this rockchip version of kodi 15.2 plays everything perfect for audio and video. I can't tell about the audio, because I don't have a home theater system, but I would like the video to work perfectly at least, if there is a way. I've tried disabling the libstagefright (forget the exact name) on the hardware acceleration, but that didn't seem to do anything....i still have the same problems. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

OFFLINE FIRMWARE UPDATE
Download the firmware from: update_open_hour_chameleon_android_4.4.2_20160329_1.0.41.zip (md5 checksum: 0c3974f8594d96ce3bbc5470dc8136a0)

Then follow the "Offline Update Instructions" on Offline_Firmware_Update_for_Android.

Please reset factory after update because this release has major restructuring done in Rockchip playback library.

Or please use the SD Card burn image if possible for cleaner update.

BURN FIRMWARE DIRECTLY TO SD CARD
Download the firmware from: burn_open_hour_chameleon_android_4.4.2_20160329_1.0.41.zip (md5 checksum: 376e8fea62ea695370d39eec00e26c98)

Then, follow the instructions on Burn_OS_to_SD_Card_and_back.
